Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 3, 2026
This policy explains what personal information EmuGamers processes, why it is processed, and the choices available when you use the catalog, browser-play features, and account tools.
Scope and controller
This policy applies to emugamers.com and its related browser-play, account, and support functions. It does not govern independent websites, game files, or services that are linked from the catalog. The operator contact route is available through the Contact page.
Information we process
The information processed depends on how you use the service.
- Account details you provide, including email address, display name, language preference, and optional avatar.
- When you use AI chat, your browser computes a fingerprint identifier locally and sends only the identifier to EmuGamers. We combine it with an IP-based identifier and a signed device cookie to limit abuse. Raw fingerprint attributes stay in your browser. The device cookie expires after 30 days; request-limit records expire after 24 hours of inactivity.
- Authentication information needed to create and maintain a signed-in session, including a signed session token stored in an HTTP-only cookie.
- Google or Apple account profile information needed for optional provider sign-in, limited to the verified email and profile details returned for that purpose.
- Technical and support information, such as browser user agent, IP address, page URL, report text, and an optional game screenshot.
- Library and save-state information associated with your account when you use those features.
How we use information
We use this information to provide accounts and saved preferences, authenticate requests, protect forms from abuse, respond to game reports, maintain the catalog, diagnose service failures, and keep the service secure. We do not use game-report information to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Service providers and transfers
The service may use carefully selected providers to deliver specific functions.
- Google and Apple provide optional account sign-in when enabled.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may process information necessary to assess whether a form interaction is legitimate when bot protection is enabled.
- Infrastructure, database, cache, and media-delivery providers process information as needed to host the service and deliver content.
Cookies, session storage, and local preferences
EmuGamers uses a necessary HTTP-only authentication cookie after sign-in. Separate short-lived cookies are used during Google or Apple authorization to bind the response to the browser that started it. Your selected display theme may be stored locally in the browser. These mechanisms support security, sign-in, and user preference; they are not advertising cookies.
Retention and security
We retain account and library information while an account remains active and retain support or security records for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate, maintain, and protect the service. We use access controls, signed session tokens, expiration, and server-side validation measures designed to reduce unauthorized access. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability for personal information. You may also be able to complain to a relevant data-protection authority. To make a request, use the Contact page and include the email associated with your account. We may need to verify identity before acting.
Children and changes
The service is not directed to children where parental consent would be required by applicable law. We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
