Ancient Domains of Mystery

DOSRoguelike

Ancient Domains of Mystery, usually abbreviated ADOM, is a fantasy roguelike role-playing game developed and published by Thomas Biskup for DOS. The player creates an adventurer and enters the threatened land of Ancardia, where the forces of Chaos are spreading. Exploration, tactical combat, character development, resource management, and permanent death define the experience. Its large world, detailed skills, alignment system, quests, and many item interactions make each expedition highly variable. ADOM became one of the best-known traditional roguelikes, earning a strong reputation for depth and replayability among computer role-playing enthusiasts. The DOS version presents the adventure through an ASCII-based interface and keyboard-driven commands.
