Daibakushou Jinsei Gekijou

Super Nintendo (SNES)Board Game

Daibakushou Jinsei Gekijou is a Japanese life-simulation board game developed and published by Taito for the Super Famicom. Up to four players guide cartoon avatars through a humorous simulated lifetime, moving around a board and resolving events that affect money, status, relationships, and other life results. The game uses a light comedy tone rather than a serious simulation, with much of its appeal coming from unpredictable event text and the changing fortunes of the participants. Its turn-based format makes it suitable for local multiplayer on one console, while computer-controlled participants allow solo play. As a Japan-only release, its jokes and written events depend heavily on Japanese language knowledge. The game is remembered as the first entry in Taito’s Daibakushou Jinsei Gekijou series and as a distinctly Japanese alternative to family-oriented life-board games.
