Treasures of the Savage Frontier is a fantasy computer role-playing game developed by Beyond Software and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. in 1992 for DOS. It is the second Gold Box-style adventure set in the Savage Frontier, following Gateway to the Savage Frontier. The player leads a party of adventurers through an ongoing Forgotten Realms conflict involving exploration, conversations, wilderness travel, and tactical battles. Its turn-based combat, party management, and menu-driven presentation reflect the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons rules used by SSI’s Gold Box games. The game was generally regarded as a solid late entry in the format, although its aging interface and text-heavy presentation limited its appeal compared with newer graphical RPGs.
