Mr. Gimmick!

Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)Platformer

Mr. Gimmick! is a technically ambitious action-platformer developed and published by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Originally released in Japan as Gimmick!, it follows Yumetaro, a small green creature who sets out to rescue a child after her toys come to life and carry her away. The game combines precise jumping with a star projectile that can be thrown, bounced, and ridden. Its compact stages hide difficult routes, secrets, and demanding boss encounters. Although it received limited distribution outside Japan, the game later earned strong retrospective praise for its responsive controls, inventive physics, detailed graphics, and unusually rich sound for the NES.
