How it plays

How does Mr. Gimmick! play?

The game is viewed from the side and is built around six main stages, followed by a final challenge. Yumetaro runs, jumps, and attacks by creating a star. The star follows physical arcs, can rebound from surfaces, and can support Yumetaro as a moving platform.

Players must reach the end of each stage, defeat bosses, and manage hazards with careful timing. Hidden items and alternate routes reward exploration, while the ending and final encounters depend on finding secret content. There is no conventional experience system; progression comes from completing stages and improving movement mastery.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Mr. Gimmick!?

Learn the star's bounce pattern before attempting difficult jumps. A charged or well-positioned star can serve as both a weapon and a temporary platform, so avoid throwing it away without considering the next obstacle.

Explore stage edges and suspicious gaps for hidden items and routes. Against bosses, prioritize safe positioning and observe attack cycles rather than attacking continuously. The game rewards memorized movement, patience, and repeated practice.
