HeroQuest

DOSBoard Game

HeroQuest is a fantasy board-game adaptation developed and published by Gremlin Graphics for DOS in 1991. It combines turn-based dungeon exploration with light role-playing and tactical combat, based on the Milton Bradley and Games Workshop tabletop game. Players guide a party of four heroes through quests created by the evil sorcerer Zargon, searching rooms, opening doors, collecting treasure, and battling monsters. The computer version preserves the board game’s structured movement and hidden-map discovery while automating dice rolls and enemy turns. Its reception was generally favorable among fans of the original game, although critics noted that the adaptation was relatively simple and depended heavily on the appeal of the source material.
