Mad Dog McCree

DOSInteractive Movie

Mad Dog McCree is an interactive-movie Western shooter developed and published by American Laser Games. The game casts the player as a hired gun protecting a frontier town from the outlaw Mad Dog McCree and his gang. Instead of traditional character animation, it uses filmed actors, branching scenes, and quick-draw gunfights presented through full-motion video. The DOS version adapts the arcade design for home computers and is primarily played with a mouse. Its short scenarios, theatrical presentation, and demanding reaction tests made it distinctive in the early 1990s, although critics and players also noted its limited depth and sometimes awkward controls. It is historically recognized as one of American Laser Games’ signature FMV arcade shooters.
