Paradroid

c64Action

Paradroid is an action-strategy game designed and programmed by Andrew Braybrook and published by Hewson Consultants for the Commodore 64 in 1985. The player controls the small, vulnerable droid 001 aboard a drifting spacecraft populated by hostile machines. Rather than relying only on weapons, the game’s defining idea is the ability to invade another droid and take control of it through a separate electronic transfer contest. Its single-screen deck displays, compact controls, and escalating enemy hierarchy give the game an unusual blend of arcade reflexes and tactical decision-making. Paradroid was well received for its technical achievement, original concept, and depth, and it became one of the notable British home-computer games of the mid-1980s.

How is this list kept current?

How rankings are calculated

The list is generated from active EmuGamers catalog entries. Votes and play activity determine order; browser compatibility is reported separately and does not turn an untested game into a higher-ranked recommendation.
