Redneck Rampage
DOSFirst-Person Shooter
Redneck Rampage is a 1997 comedy first-person shooter developed by Xatrix Entertainment and published by Interplay Productions for DOS. It follows Arkansas brothers Leonard and Bubba as they fight aliens, mutants, and hostile locals after their prized pigs are stolen. The game combines Build-engine gunplay with exaggerated rural satire, destructible-looking scenery, vehicles, food and alcohol items, and deliberately crude humor. Its single-player campaign is structured as a sequence of large, exploration-focused levels with hidden areas and multiple weapons. Contemporary reception generally recognized its energetic action, humor, and detailed environments, while criticizing its uneven difficulty, repetitive combat, and offensive jokes. It later became the first entry in the Redneck Rampage series.
How is this list kept current?
How rankings are calculated
The list is generated from active EmuGamers catalog entries. Votes and play activity determine order; browser compatibility is reported separately and does not turn an untested game into a higher-ranked recommendation.
| Order | Signal | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Real community votes | Games with at least one recorded vote appear before games with no votes. |
| 2 | Rating confidence | More votes rank first, followed by the rating value. |
| 3 | Play activity | Play count breaks rating ties and orders entries with no votes. |
| 4 | Stable tie-break | Game name keeps otherwise equal results deterministic. |
