Rise of the Triad: Dark War

DOSFirst-Person Shooter

Rise of the Triad: Dark War is a first-person shooter developed and published by Apogee Software for DOS. It follows the H.U.N.T. team as its agents assault a fortified island controlled by the fanatical Triad organization and its leader, El Oscuro. The game combines conventional firearms with explosive weapons, power-ups, exaggerated movement, and deliberately theatrical violence. Its campaign is divided into episodes and supports both single-player missions and multiplayer deathmatch modes. Released in 1994, it was recognized for its fast action, large and often secret-filled levels, gibs, environmental hazards, and unusual power-ups. Its Build-engine presentation and irreverent tone made it a distinctive alternative to more restrained military shooters of the period.
