Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down board representing a developing city. Players place tiles to form hotel chains, buy stock in active corporations, and manage cash while competing against other participants.
Play proceeds through turns rather than real-time action. Mergers can create majority and minority shareholders, distribute bonuses, and make smaller chains vulnerable to absorption. The objective is to finish with more money than the other players after the final liquidation of stock and cash.
Plan your run
Build chains when the resulting position gives you useful stock access, but avoid making a corporation vulnerable before you can benefit from its merger. Track opponents' shares and cash, since a merger is valuable only when its bonuses and stock exchanges improve your position. Keep enough cash to buy shares during unexpected turns.
Before you begin
Count available tiles and monitor which corporations are close to merging.
Do not spend all your cash early; liquidity is important when a merger creates a buying opportunity.
Acquire is a DOS computer adaptation of the classic hotel-chain board game, combining economic strategy with tile placement. Players build, expand, merge, and invest in hotel corporations while trying to increase their personal wealth. The central tension comes from deciding when to create a chain, when to buy shares, and when to trigger a merger. The developer and publisher of this DOS release are not confidently identified in the available reference information, and a verified release year is unavailable. Documented historical reception for this specific version is also limited, so its technical differences from other computer adaptations should not be assumed.
