Hero
The player's unnamed square avatar. It can carry one object at a time and enters rooms on a journey to recover the chalice.
How it plays
The player moves a square-shaped hero through connected rooms filled with walls, gates, dragons, and objects. The goal is to find the Enchanted Chalice and return it to the Golden Castle. During the search, the player picks up keys, a sword, and a bridge. Keys open gates of the same color, the sword destroys dragons, and the bridge can be placed against a wall to create a passage. A bat sometimes enters rooms, steals objects, and drops them elsewhere. The game includes several variations that change the placement of items and the number of dragon enemies.
Plan your run
Find the sword early and keep it whenever possible. Unlock gates by matching the correct key, and place the bridge at a wall to open new paths. If the bat takes an object, follow it or search the rooms where it was heading. When the chalice is found, head straight back to the Golden Castle while avoiding areas with dragons. On later game variations, the map and object positions change, so adapt your route.
