Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
Alien Rampage uses a side-view perspective. The main objective is to move through dangerous stages, defeat human and other enemies, avoid hazards, and reach the end of each level.
Players run and jump across platforms, fire weapons, collect supplies, and interact with parts of the environment. Progression is level-based, with increasingly demanding enemy placements and terrain. The emphasis is on movement, shooting, exploration, and survival rather than puzzle solving or character statistics.
Plan your run
Before you begin
Explore side paths before leaving a screen; useful pickups may be off the main route.
Use elevated platforms to attack enemies while reducing exposure.
Treat unfamiliar scenery as a possible hazard until its behavior is clear.
Alien Rampage is a side-scrolling action platformer developed by Inner Circle Creations and published by Apogee Software for DOS in 1996. The player controls an armed alien fighting through hostile environments after escaping captivity. Its design combines platform navigation, direct shooting, destructible scenery, and fast arcade-style combat rather than elaborate role-playing systems. The game follows the shareware-era PC tradition of compact episodes and challenging enemy encounters. Reception was generally modest but favorable among DOS action-game players, with its large sprites, violent comic-book tone, and explosive weapons standing out. It is best remembered as an obscure Apogee release with straightforward run-and-gun gameplay.
