How it plays

How does Alley Cat play?

The game is viewed from a fixed side-on perspective. Freddie moves around the alley, climbs or jumps onto objects, avoids hazards, and tries to reach open apartment windows. Entering a window starts one of several screen-sized challenges with a different objective.

The player must collect food or other targets while avoiding enemies and environmental dangers. Successful visits award points and can lead to further windows, while mistakes cost lives. Progression is score-based rather than divided into a conventional story or campaign, and the game emphasizes repeating short challenges to improve performance.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Alley Cat?

Learn the layout and timing of each window challenge before chasing points. Move cautiously around hazards, keep an escape route available, and avoid rushing into a screen when enemies are already positioned against the entrance.

Prioritize survival over risky bonus opportunities. Short, repeatable routes through the alley are generally more valuable than improvising, especially after the game begins introducing faster or more dangerous obstacles.
