Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a first-person viewpoint with movement through connected rooms, corridors, outdoor areas, and dungeons. The main objective is to travel across Tempest, complete quests, recover important artifacts, and confront the Dark Army.
Combat takes place in real time. The player can attack with equipped weapons, cast spells, use items, inspect surroundings, and interact with characters or objects. Progress comes from exploration, solving environmental puzzles, improving equipment, and acquiring new magical abilities.
Plan your run
Search every accessible area for keys, healing items, useful equipment, and clues before moving on. Keep more than one weapon or spell option available, since enemies can vary in resilience.
Save frequently before entering unfamiliar areas or beginning major fights. Careful inventory management and attention to environmental details are more valuable than rushing through encounters.
Before you begin
Explore side paths before advancing the main objective.
Save before difficult fights and puzzle sequences.
Keep healing supplies available and review new equipment regularly.
Anvil of Dawn is a first-person fantasy computer role-playing game developed by DreamForge Intertainment and published by New World Computing for DOS. The player takes the role of a hero defending the land of Tempest from the invading forces of the Dark Army. Exploration, real-time combat, puzzle solving, spell use, and equipment management form the core experience. Its grid-based movement and atmospheric presentation reflect the dungeon-crawling traditions of the period, while its hand-drawn environments and story events give the campaign a more directed structure. The game earned a generally favorable reputation for its visuals, mood, and accessible interface, although some players found its combat and navigation less deep than those of larger contemporary RPGs.
