How it plays

How does Avatar: The Last Airbender play?

The game uses a third-person action-adventure perspective with exploration across story areas. The objective is to advance through missions, defeat enemies, solve environmental problems, and collect useful items.

Aang, Katara, and Sokka provide different abilities for combat and traversal. Progression is primarily story-based, with new areas and objectives becoming available as chapters are completed. The Nintendo DS version also uses touchscreen interactions for selected actions and minigames.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Use the character whose ability matches the obstacle or enemy rather than relying on one fighter. Explore side paths for items and upgrades before moving through the main objective.

Against groups, create distance and attack from safe positions when possible. Save healing resources for difficult encounters instead of spending them on minor damage.
