Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
Bandits! presents a compact arcade playfield rather than a large explorable world. The objective is to destroy incoming attackers, avoid losing the player craft, and continue through successive enemy activity for as high a score as possible.
Play centers on moving into position and firing at targets. Progress is wave-based or score-based, with pressure increasing as the session continues. There are no documented role-playing systems, branching stages, or equipment inventories.
Plan your run
Stay mobile and avoid focusing exclusively on one target. Clear the most immediate threats first, then reposition before the next attack reaches the player.
Use deliberate shots rather than firing without regard to position. Because the game is built around short arcade sessions, survival and consistent accuracy are more valuable than taking unnecessary risks.
Bandits! is an early arcade-style action shooter from Sirius Software. The player takes control of a defensive craft and faces repeated attacks from hostile bandits in a compact, reflex-focused playfield. Its design emphasizes aiming, movement, timing, and survival rather than exploration, story, or inventory management. The game belongs to the formative period of home-computer arcade games, when simple rules and increasingly difficult waves were central to the experience. Its presentation is sparse by modern standards, but the direct shooting mechanics make the objective immediately understandable. Bandits! is best viewed as a short-session score-chasing game whose historical interest comes from its early DOS-era arcade design and its place among Sirius Software’s action releases.
