Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
Bedlam uses a first-person perspective. The player advances through hostile areas, fights enemies with ranged weapons, searches the environment, and completes mission objectives while looking for the route to the next section.
Progression is organized around separate combat areas rather than an open world. Success depends on movement, aiming, ammunition management, and recognizing enemy placements. Exploration is important because supplies and usable paths may not be immediately visible.
Plan your run
Move carefully through unfamiliar rooms and avoid exposing yourself to several enemies at once. Check side passages and corners for supplies before committing to a longer fight.
Conserve ammunition when a threat can be bypassed, and use cover or doorways to limit the number of opponents attacking at the same time. Revisit nearby areas when an objective does not appear immediately obvious.
Before you begin
Search rooms and side paths before leaving an area.
Use cover and doorways to control enemy encounters.
Conserve ammunition for groups and difficult fights.
Bedlam is a science-fiction first-person shooter developed by Mirage Technologies and published by GT Interactive for DOS in 1996. The game places the player in a hostile futuristic setting filled with armed opponents, dangerous environments, and combat-focused missions. Its play style combines first-person exploration with direct weapon-based action, requiring players to navigate enclosed areas while searching for routes, supplies, and objectives. The game belongs to the mid-1990s wave of DOS shooters, but it remained relatively obscure beside better-known releases of the period. Contemporary reception was mixed, with criticism commonly directed at its presentation and execution, while its science-fiction atmosphere and straightforward shooting provided some appeal. Bedlam is primarily of historical interest to players examining lesser-known DOS action games.
