How it plays
Players guide Bomberman from an overhead, grid-based perspective. Bombs can clear soft blocks, open routes, defeat enemies, and trigger chain reactions, but their blast radius can also destroy the player. Stages require navigation, item collection, enemy management, and reaching the exit or completing the listed objective.
The adventure progresses through a sequence of areas and boss encounters. Power-ups can improve bomb capacity, blast range, movement, or other abilities. Separate battle modes support competitive matches, with arena layouts and rules designed for local multiplayer.
Plan your run
Plan escape routes before placing a bomb, especially in narrow corridors. Use soft blocks to control the battlefield, but avoid trapping yourself behind the same blocks you are trying to destroy.
Collect range and bomb-capacity upgrades carefully, then use chain reactions to clear large sections efficiently. In multiplayer, vary your timing and approach rather than placing predictable bombs at the edge of the arena.

Before you begin
Bombs are dangerous to Bomberman as well as to enemies; always identify a safe route first.
A longer blast range is useful, but it also makes careless cornering more dangerous.
Use blocks and walls to delay opponents and create timed traps.
Bomberman 2 is an action-maze game developed by Hudson Soft for Nintendo DS and published by Konami. It combines a single-player adventure with the series’ familiar arena battles, asking players to destroy obstacles, defeat enemies, and escape their own bomb blasts. Its central mechanic is simple but demanding: bombs create cross-shaped explosions, while careful positioning and power-ups expand their range and tactical possibilities. The Nintendo DS version adds character customization and uses the system’s local wireless features for multiplayer. The campaign is structured around sequential stages with hazards, enemies, items, and boss encounters. Reception generally recognized its accessible classic gameplay and generous feature set, while opinions differed on its presentation and the limitations of its multiplayer audience.
