How it plays

How does Brix play?

The game uses a single-screen, side-on perspective. The player moves a paddle along the bottom of the playfield and keeps the ball in play while it strikes and removes bricks. The objective is to clear the complete arrangement without allowing the ball to pass the paddle.

Levels vary the placement and shape of the bricks, making rebound angles important. Progression comes from completing successive screens; the primary challenge is improving control and adapting to layouts rather than managing a character, inventory, or branching story.

What is the best way to play Brix?

Keep the paddle aligned with the ball’s projected landing point instead of reacting only at the last moment. Favor controlled rebounds near the paddle’s center when a predictable angle is more valuable than a risky shot.

Watch the ball’s angle after every collision and prioritize openings that make later rebounds easier. During difficult layouts, survival is more important than forcing a fast clearance.
