How it plays

How does Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance play?

The game is viewed from the side in a large interconnected castle. Juste explores rooms, defeats enemies with his whip and sub-weapons, finds keys and relics, and searches for Lydie and Maxim while uncovering the castle's secrets.

Progression comes from new movement abilities, equipment, spellbooks, sub-weapons, and access to additional areas. Two linked castle versions overlap throughout the adventure, and bosses guard major routes and story developments. Exploration and backtracking are central to completion.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance?

Explore every accessible room and mark locked doors, unexplained gaps, and passages that require a new relic. Save frequently before bosses and keep healing items available.

Experiment with spellbook and sub-weapon combinations. The most useful setup depends on the enemy, but elemental effects can make difficult encounters and crowded rooms much safer.

The two castle versions share a connected structure, so revisiting familiar locations after story events is essential for finding progression items and optional rewards.
