How it plays
Link travels across an overhead map, enters towns, explores palaces, and battles enemies in side-scrolling scenes. Random encounters can trigger additional fights while moving between locations.
Sword attacks, jumps, shields, spells, and earned experience are central to progression. Six palaces contain keys, minibosses, bosses, and crystals; placing each crystal advances the quest toward the final confrontation.
Plan your run
Use shield and crouching attacks carefully; many enemies punish reckless sword swings. Learn enemy patterns before committing to a jump or approach.
Explore towns and caves thoroughly for heart containers, magic containers, spells, and sword upgrades. Cast Shield or Jump when entering difficult encounters, and revisit earlier areas after gaining new abilities.

Classic NES Series: Zelda II - The Adventure of Link is Nintendo's Game Boy Advance edition of the 1987 NES action RPG. It follows Link as he searches for the Triforce of Courage and awakens Princess Zelda from an enchanted sleep. Unlike its predecessor, the game alternates between an overhead map and side-view action scenes, with experience levels and magic adding role-playing elements. Its unusual structure and demanding combat divided players at release, but its ambitious design, memorable music, and influence on later Zelda experiments have earned it lasting historical interest.
