Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a first-person cockpit perspective. Missions require the player to fly through terrain, locate hostile units, complete assigned objectives, and return or survive under combat conditions.
Players manage helicopter movement, weapons, and tactical positioning. The campaign is structured as a sequence of missions, with success depending on destroying or reaching designated targets while avoiding enemy fire and terrain hazards.
Plan your run
Use terrain as cover and avoid exposing the helicopter on ridgelines for longer than necessary. Scan for targets before committing to an attack, and keep enough space to maneuver away from return fire.
Prioritize mission objectives over unnecessary engagements. Low-altitude movement can reduce exposure, but rushing through unfamiliar terrain increases the risk of collision or losing situational awareness.
Before you begin
Learn the terrain before attempting aggressive attacks; the voxel landscape affects both visibility and movement.
Use short attack passes instead of hovering in an exposed position.
Comanche CD is a combat flight simulation game developed and published by NovaLogic for DOS. It places the player in command of the RAH-66 Comanche, a stealth-oriented attack helicopter deployed against enemy forces in a series of military missions. The game combines low-altitude navigation, target identification, missile and cannon attacks, and terrain-based tactics rather than presenting a conventional arcade flight model. This CD release is associated with the early Comanche line and expands the presentation of the original game with CD-ROM content. Its voxel-based landscapes were technically notable for the period, while reception commonly recognized its distinctive terrain and accessible action-focused simulation style.
