How it plays

How does Comix Zone play?

The game uses a side-view perspective. Sketch moves through comic panels, defeats mutants and other enemies, searches for routes through the page, and reaches the end of each issue.

Punches, kicks, grabs, jumps, and environmental interactions form the core of combat. Roadkill can help attack enemies or interact with parts of the scenery. Progression is based on completing sequential comic issues, with branching routes and limited health and resources making careful exploration important.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Comix Zone?

Use the comic panels to your advantage: move enemies toward hazards, conserve throwable objects, and avoid taking unnecessary damage while exploring alternate routes.

Roadkill is useful for distracting or damaging enemies, but do not rely on it for every encounter. Learn enemy patterns, keep healing items for difficult sections, and inspect the edges of panels for exits or interactive objects.
