How it plays
The game uses a top-down, tile-based battlefield view. Players harvest Tiberium with specialized vehicles, refine it into credits, and spend those credits on structures, infantry, vehicles, aircraft, defenses, and repairs.
Campaign missions usually require destroying an enemy base, protecting an installation, capturing an objective, or reaching a designated area. The GDI and Nod campaigns have different units, technologies, mission routes, and endings. A skirmish mode supports battles against computer opponents on individual maps.
Plan your run
Secure a steady Tiberium field before expanding production, and protect harvesters with defensive structures or nearby combat units.
Use scouts to reveal the map, focus fire on high-value targets, and avoid sending expensive units forward without support. Build a mixed force: infantry can occupy or screen areas, while vehicles provide mobility and firepower.
Campaign objectives sometimes reward restraint rather than total destruction. Read the briefing carefully, preserve key structures when required, and save credits for repairs and reinforcements.

Command & Conquer is a science-fiction real-time strategy game developed by Westwood Studios and published by Virgin Interactive for DOS. Set in a near-future Earth transformed by the arrival of Tiberium, it presents a branching conflict between the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod. Players gather resources, construct bases, research and produce military units, and complete tactical missions in either faction’s campaign. Its mouse-driven interface, live-action briefings, distinctive factions, and audiovisual presentation helped establish the modern RTS formula. The game was widely praised for accessible controls, strong atmosphere, and cinematic storytelling, and became one of the defining PC strategy releases of the 1990s.
