Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game is viewed from a first-person perspective during exploration and missions. The main objective is to build a successful corporation while competing against rival organizations and dealing with threats in the game world.
Players manage resources, personnel, research, and facilities, then deploy agents to investigate locations, obtain information, and carry out assignments. Mission areas contain hazards and enemies, so movement and direct combat are important parts of progression.
Advancement depends on improving the organization and acquiring better technology. The balance between long-term management and immediate field operations is central to the game.
Plan your run
Expand cautiously instead of spending all available funds at once. Research and organizational improvements support later missions, while poorly prepared agents can waste resources.
Before entering a dangerous area, review the available equipment and objectives. During exploration, move methodically, conserve supplies, and avoid unnecessary confrontations when the mission does not require them.
Before you begin
Treat money, personnel, and research as a shared resource pool.
Prepare agents before sending them into hazardous mission areas.
Use exploration to gather information rather than engaging every threat.
Corporation is a science-fiction strategy and simulation game developed by Core Design and published by Mirrorsoft for DOS in 1990. It places the player in charge of a corporate organization operating in a hostile, technologically advanced future. The central premise combines business expansion with covert operations: the player develops facilities, recruits personnel, researches technology, and sends agents into dangerous environments. Play alternates between management decisions and direct first-person exploration and combat, giving the game a hybrid structure unusual for its period. Its interface and systems can be demanding, but the combination of corporate planning, espionage, and action helped it stand out among early DOS strategy titles. Reception was generally noted for its ambition and atmosphere, although the complexity and occasionally opaque presentation could make it difficult for new players.
