How it plays

How does Dark Legions play?

Players move forces across a strategic map, contesting regions and arranging battles against enemy armies. Army composition matters because different creatures have different strengths, weaknesses, and combat abilities.

When armies meet, the game changes to a direct duel. The player controls one fighter at a time, attacks and defends against an opposing creature, and wins by defeating the enemy force. Victories support continued territorial expansion and access to further battles.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Dark Legions?

Build armies with complementary strengths rather than relying on one powerful creature. Use the strategic map to choose favorable engagements, and learn each unit’s attack range, movement, and defensive timing before committing it to a difficult duel.

In combat, avoid constant attacking. Watch the opponent’s animation, block or evade when appropriate, then counter after a missed strike. Preserve experienced units whenever possible, because losing a strong fighter can make later territory battles much harder.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Learn one unit at a time in low-risk battles before attempting to conquer heavily defended regions.

  2. 2

Treat the strategic map and the individual duel as separate decisions: a favorable army matchup can matter as much as combat skill.
