Rikus
A powerful mul gladiator and one of the best-known heroes associated with the Dark Sun storyline.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down exploration view and a separate turn-based combat view. The party travels between locations, talks with inhabitants, searches containers, solves quests, and manages equipment. Combat involves movement, attacks, spells, psionic powers, item use, and tactical positioning.
Progression comes from completing quests, gaining experience, improving character abilities, and acquiring better equipment. The party can include created characters and recruited companions, while dialogue and exploration determine access to several objectives and locations.
Plan your run
Save in separate files before entering major areas, starting conversations, or triggering battles. Athas is unforgiving, so carry restorative supplies and avoid exhausting every spell or psionic power before reaching a safe location.
Use terrain and party formation during combat. Protect fragile spellcasters, focus attacks on isolated enemies, and check equipment and available abilities before difficult encounters. Explore thoroughly because useful items, companions, and quest solutions are often off the main path.

Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager is a party-based computer role-playing game developed and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. for DOS in 1994. It continues the storyline of Dark Sun: Shattered Lands, placing the player in Athas, a brutal desert world shaped by psionics, slavery, scarcity, and powerful sorcerer-kings. The game combines exploration, dialogue, character development, inventory management, and turn-based tactical combat. Players guide a party through towns, wilderness areas, ruins, and other dangerous locations while investigating a threat connected to the Ravager. Reception generally recognized its ambitious setting, large role-playing scope, and tactical systems, although its interface and technical rough edges could make it demanding.
