How it plays

How does Death Rally play?

Races are viewed from an overhead perspective. The objective is to finish ahead of rival drivers while negotiating tight corners, hazards, and weapon attacks on a series of tracks.

Money from races can be spent on better vehicles, armor, tires, engines, and weapons. Damage and performance affect later events, so choosing when to repair or upgrade matters. The DOS version centers on its single-player campaign and progression through increasingly demanding races.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Death Rally?

Learn each track's corners before spending heavily on weapons. Maintaining speed through turns is often more valuable than firing constantly.

Upgrade the engine and tires when handling or acceleration becomes the limiting factor, and repair serious damage before an important event. Use mines and other weapons where opponents are forced into narrow lines.
