Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a management interface in which the player develops a dinosaur park and monitors its financial performance. The main objectives are to attract visitors, maintain dinosaurs and facilities, control expenses, and earn enough profit to continue expanding.
Players purchase dinosaurs and park improvements, set prices, review reports, and respond to changing business conditions. Progress comes from reinvesting successful takings in larger or more appealing attractions, while poor budgeting can leave the park unable to operate.
Plan your run
Begin conservatively: buy only the dinosaurs and facilities that the starting budget can support, and keep enough cash available for upkeep and unexpected costs.
Review attendance and financial reports regularly. Adjust ticket prices and investment decisions gradually, prioritize attractions that improve visitor numbers, and avoid expanding faster than operating income allows.
Before you begin
Keep a reserve of cash for dinosaur care and operating expenses.
Use financial and attendance reports before making major purchases.
Expand gradually instead of spending the entire budget at once.
DinoPark Tycoon is a business simulation game developed by Manaccom Pty Ltd and published by MECC for DOS in 1993. The player builds and manages a dinosaur theme park, balancing construction costs, animal purchases, visitor safety, ticket prices, and operating expenses. Its play style combines menu-driven management with simple financial planning rather than action-oriented dinosaur control. The game presents prehistoric attractions through colorful, educationally styled information and approachable interfaces. It became a memorable early-1990s edutainment and strategy title, particularly for its unusual combination of dinosaur collecting and amusement-park economics. Success depends on learning which attractions draw visitors while keeping the park solvent and safe.
