How it plays

How does The Jungle Book play?

Players guide Mowgli through side-scrolling jungle stages viewed from a two-dimensional perspective. The main objectives are to move through hazardous terrain, defeat or avoid enemies, collect useful items, and reach the end of each level.

Mowgli can jump across platforms, climb in appropriate areas, and use attacks against enemies. Stages contain hazards, vertical sections, and encounters that test timing. Progression is based on completing successive levels rather than on a character-statistics system.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play The Jungle Book?

Learn the timing of Mowgli’s jumps before attempting long platforming sequences. Avoid unnecessary fights when an enemy can be bypassed safely, since poorly timed attacks can leave Mowgli vulnerable.

Explore vertical branches and side passages for items, and approach hazards slowly until their movement patterns are clear. Preserve health for later sections and boss encounters rather than rushing through every screen.
