How it plays

How does Jurassic War play?

The game uses a map-based, turn-by-turn structure. The main objective is to expand control, position dinosaur units effectively, and defeat opposing forces. Each turn is spent moving units, choosing engagements, and managing the available forces before the opponent responds.

Scenarios are built around territorial conflict rather than a linear action-game level sequence. Progress comes from winning battles and improving the player's strategic position on the map. The pace allows players to consider terrain, unit placement, and the relative strengths of different dinosaurs before committing to an attack.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Jurassic War?

Protect valuable units instead of sending every dinosaur forward at once. Use the map to limit the directions from which an opponent can attack, and keep enough strength in reserve to respond to a breakthrough.

Plan several turns ahead: a successful attack should improve your position, not merely trade one unit for another. Before engaging, compare the likely result with the value of the territory and the ability of nearby enemies to reinforce.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Advance in groups so isolated units are not surrounded.

  2. 2

Check nearby enemy positions before committing to an attack.

  3. 3

Keep reserves behind the front line for counterattacks.
