Turok
The protagonist and current bearer of the Turok mantle. He travels through the Lost Land to stop the Campaigner.
How it plays
The game uses a first-person perspective. Turok explores outdoor ruins, caves, temples, and industrial areas while searching for keys, level exits, weapons, ammunition, and pieces of the Chronoscepter.
Progression depends on clearing stages, solving simple environmental puzzles, finding secret areas, and defeating enemies. The arsenal includes conventional firearms and powerful special weapons, while health and ammunition management are important during longer stages. Enemies include dinosaurs, armed soldiers, mutants, and supernatural guardians.
Plan your run
Explore each area thoroughly before leaving. Keys, weapons, ammunition, and Chronoscepter pieces are often placed away from the direct route, and several stages contain misleading dead ends or concealed passages.
Use distance and cover whenever possible. Save powerful ammunition for large dinosaurs, bosses, and crowded encounters, and avoid wasting scarce supplies on enemies that can be bypassed or defeated with weaker weapons.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is a first-person action-adventure game developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment. It combines firearm-based shooting with exploration, platforming, environmental puzzles, and battles against prehistoric animals and supernatural enemies. The player controls Turok, a warrior tasked with stopping the Campaigner from using the powerful Chronoscepter to conquer the Lost Land. Its campaign is arranged as a sequence of large, self-contained stages filled with keys, switches, weapons, and hidden objectives. The game was historically noted for bringing console-style 3D action and extensive dinosaur encounters to home computers, although the DOS release is less widely documented than the Nintendo 64 version.
