How it plays

How does Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone play?

The game uses a side-view perspective. Players move through horizontally scrolling stages, defeat groups of enemies, and reach a boss at the end of each location. Billy and Jimmy can punch, kick, jump, grab opponents, and use weapons found during a stage.

The journey is divided into international locations, with new enemy formations and bosses introduced as progress continues. Additional fighters can join the team, and their different reach and attack properties affect how encounters are approached. Health and limited continues make conserving lives important.

What is the best way to play Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone?

Learn enemy attack ranges before committing to a combo, and use throws or repeated strikes to isolate opponents. Weapons are useful for controlling crowds, but their positions and durability make them worth saving for difficult groups.

Avoid rushing bosses. Watch their movement patterns, attack after a missed strike, and preserve continues by treating each stage as a pattern-learning exercise. When an alternate fighter becomes available, choose one whose reach or speed suits the next stage.
