Son Goku
The young martial artist and main protagonist, searching for the Dragon Balls while opposing the Red Ribbon Army.
How it plays
The campaign alternates between top-down areas and side-scrolling stages. Goku explores environments, defeats Red Ribbon Army soldiers and machines, solves environmental problems, and collects items while pursuing the Dragon Balls.
Players can switch between Goku and Android 8 in relevant sections. Progress comes from completing story missions, finding collectibles, improving abilities, and defeating bosses. Touch-screen actions are used for several attacks, tools, and interactive sequences.
Plan your run
Explore each area before advancing when possible. Breaking objects and checking side paths can reveal health items, currency, and useful collectibles.
Learn enemy attack patterns rather than repeatedly attacking. Use the character best suited to the encounter, preserve recovery items for bosses, and revisit stages when new abilities open previously inaccessible routes.

Dragon Ball: Origins 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Game Republic and published by Bandai Namco Games for Nintendo DS. It adapts the Red Ribbon Army portion of the original Dragon Ball story, following Goku and his allies as they search for the Dragon Balls and confront the organization. The game combines overhead exploration, side-scrolling platform sections, close-range combat, and stylus-based interactions. Its colorful presentation and broad use of the manga's early cast were generally well received, although some criticism focused on repetitive encounters and uneven difficulty. It is primarily a solo campaign designed around short, self-contained missions.
