How it plays

How does Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II play?

The game uses a top-down perspective. Players explore towns, wilderness areas, caves, and combat zones while completing story objectives, collecting items, speaking with characters, and fighting enemies in real time.

Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks become available during the adventure. Each has different attacks and statistics. Defeated enemies provide experience, while quests and exploration grant equipment, items, and access to new areas. The main campaign follows the Android and Cell arcs, with optional errands and collectible challenges providing additional activities.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II?

Explore each area thoroughly before moving on. Side quests and hidden objects often provide useful healing items, equipment, or experience.

Use each character’s strengths rather than relying on one fighter. Keep healing items stocked, learn enemy attack patterns, and return to earlier areas when a new ability opens a previously inaccessible path.

Save regularly before major story encounters. Stronger special attacks are useful against bosses, but conserving energy for openings and recovery can be more reliable than attacking continuously.
