How it plays

How does Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II play?

The game uses a top-down perspective and real-time action combat. Players travel between towns, wilderness areas, dungeons, and story locations while investigating objectives, speaking with characters, collecting items, and defeating enemies.

Gohan is the main character, while several allies become available for selected sections. Physical attacks, ki techniques, defensive movement, and character-specific abilities are used to overcome enemies and bosses. Experience raises combat capabilities, while quests and exploration provide items and access to new areas. The story is mostly linear, with optional tasks and revisitable locations.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II?

Explore each area thoroughly before leaving. Chests, side quests, and destructible objects can provide useful healing items, equipment, and experience.

Use the correct attack style for the situation. Physical attacks are dependable at close range, while ki techniques let you damage enemies from a safer distance. Avoid spending all of your ki before major encounters, and switch playable characters when their abilities are better suited to a target.

Complete available side quests when practical, since their rewards can make later story battles easier. Save healing items for bosses and learn enemy attack patterns instead of trading damage continuously.
