Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a fixed single-screen view of the playfield. The player moves a horizontal paddle along the lower edge and strikes a ball upward into a block formation.
The objective is to remove the blocks while preventing the ball from passing the paddle. Rounds progress by clearing the current arrangement and continuing to the next stage, if available. Paddle placement changes the ball’s return angle, so controlled movement is more important than simply following the ball.
Plan your run
Stay near the ball’s projected landing point rather than making constant movements. Small paddle adjustments are usually safer and make it easier to control the next rebound.
Prioritize openings and difficult-to-reach blocks when the ball is already traveling upward. Avoid committing to the edge of the screen unless the ball’s direction clearly requires it.
Before you begin
Use short, deliberate paddle movements to keep the ball centered.
Watch the rebound angle after every contact; it determines where the ball will travel next.
Electranoid is a DOS arcade game in the Breakout tradition. Its core premise is to control a paddle, keep a bouncing ball in play, and clear arrangements of blocks from the screen. The game is designed around short, repeatable rounds rather than a story-driven campaign, with success depending on positioning, timing, and anticipation of the ball’s trajectory. Available documentation identifies the DOS release and its general arcade format, but does not reliably establish the developer, publisher, release year, or a detailed historical reception. It is best presented as a period computer take on the paddle-and-ball formula, intended for focused single-player sessions.
