How it plays

How does F-Zero: GP Legend play?

Races are presented from a behind-the-machine perspective on overhead and perspective-style tracks. The objective is to finish ahead of rival machines while managing energy, avoiding barriers, and using boost power at the right moments.

The game includes Grand Prix, Story, Time Attack, Practice, and other event-based activities. Story missions use specific pilots and objectives, while Grand Prix events group several tracks into cups. Better results and completed missions expand the available content and improve access to additional pilots, machines, and challenges.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play F-Zero: GP Legend?

Learn each track’s braking points before relying on boost. Use the side-attack buttons to protect your machine or damage rivals, but do not spend energy recklessly when a barrier or jump is approaching.

In Grand Prix, prioritize clean finishes over unnecessary attacks. In Story missions, read the objective carefully: some stages reward survival, pursuit, or defeating a target rather than simply taking first place.
