Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
Matches are viewed from an angled top-down perspective that scrolls across the pitch. The player controls the active footballer, moves into space, passes, crosses, shoots, tackles, and changes control between teammates while attempting to score more goals than the opposition.
The game supports individual matches and structured competitions. Team selection, formations, and match settings shape the experience, while tournament progress is determined by results on the field. The DOS edition's presentation and input options depend on its keyboard and sound-card configuration.
Plan your run
Use short passes to keep possession instead of repeatedly sprinting into crowded areas. Switch defenders early so the selected player can cover passing lanes rather than chase the ball from behind.
Attack through the wings, then look for a central pass or cross once a defender has been drawn out. Defend patiently near the penalty area and avoid mistimed tackles that open a direct route to goal.
Before you begin
Use controlled passing to avoid losing possession in midfield.
Change to the defender nearest the developing play before committing to a tackle.
Vary attacks between the flanks and the center.
FIFA 97 is a football simulation developed by Extended Play Productions and published by EA Sports for DOS in 1996. It represents the 1996–97 era of the FIFA series and focuses on match play between international and club teams. The game is presented from a broadcast-style elevated perspective, with keyboard-controlled passing, shooting, tackling, and player switching. Its modes include exhibition matches, tournaments, and season-oriented competitions, depending on the selected setup. Reception was generally positive for its accessible controls, large team selection, and presentation, although the DOS version is more technically limited than the console releases. It remains a recognizable mid-1990s entry in EA's football catalog.
