Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a top-down tactical battlefield view. The objective is to complete mission goals such as defeating opposing forces, securing locations, or reaching designated areas while preserving the fireteam.
Play proceeds through turns. Players move units, select weapons, engage visible enemies, and use terrain or line of sight to improve their position. Missions form a campaign structure, with later operations increasing the tactical demands and requiring more effective use of the team’s equipment.
Plan your run
Use reconnaissance and movement to identify threats before exposing the whole fireteam. Keep units separated enough to reduce the effect of area attacks, but close enough to support one another.
Use cover and line of sight whenever possible, and avoid spending all available movement before the enemy situation is understood. Prioritize exposed or heavily armed targets, then consolidate the team before advancing.
Before you begin
Scout cautiously before committing the main group.
Use terrain and line of sight to limit enemy fire.
Preserve ammunition and avoid unnecessary engagements.
FireTeam 2200 is a science-fiction turn-based tactical strategy game developed by Multitude and published by Mindscape for DOS. It places the player in command of a military fireteam operating in a futuristic conflict during the year 2200. Missions focus on positioning, reconnaissance, weapon selection, and coordinated attacks rather than rapid arcade action. The game is presented as a detailed tactical simulation, with individual units and battlefield conditions shaping each engagement. Its interface and rules favor deliberate planning and careful movement. Reception was mixed: some players appreciated its ambitious tactical scope and atmosphere, while others found the interface demanding and the pace slow.
