Young Knight
The protagonist who is forced into leadership and commands the Flame Dragon Knights against the invading darkness.
How it plays
The game uses a top-down, grid-based battlefield. The player moves units, attacks enemies, uses abilities or items where available, and ends each unit’s turn before the opponent acts. Victory normally depends on defeating the opposing force or completing the scenario’s stated objective.
Between battles, the story advances through scripted events and the roster develops through experience and equipment. Different unit types encourage different roles, including frontline combat, ranged attacks, and support. Maps become more demanding as enemy placement and objectives require more deliberate positioning.
Plan your run
Protect fragile units by keeping them behind durable frontline fighters, and avoid ending a turn where several enemies can attack the same character. Concentrate attacks to remove threatening enemies before spreading damage across the map.
Plan around movement range and terrain, and preserve healing items or support abilities for battles where reinforcements or multiple objectives create pressure.

Flame Dragon Knights is a Taiwanese tactical role-playing game developed and published by Han-Tang International for DOS. It combines a fantasy adventure story with turn-based battles on grid-based maps, placing the player in command of a small group of heroes and allied units. Battles emphasize positioning, class roles, weapon range, and careful use of limited resources rather than real-time reflexes. The game belongs to the early wave of Chinese-language computer strategy RPGs influenced by console tactics games. Its presentation and systems are comparatively traditional, but it is remembered as an important early entry in Han-Tang International’s Flame Dragon Knights series. The campaign is structured around story episodes and progressively more demanding tactical encounters.
