How it plays

How does Galactix play?

Galactix uses a side-scrolling perspective. The objective is to guide the spacecraft through successive stages, destroy enemy ships and other hazards, and survive each section until its end.

Players control horizontal and vertical movement while firing at targets. Enemy formations, projectiles, and environmental hazards require continual repositioning. Progression is stage-based, with later sections increasing the pressure through denser opposition and more demanding encounters.

The game is a single-player arcade campaign. No documented character-driven modes or role-playing progression systems are established for the DOS version.

Plan your run

What is the best way to play Galactix?

Keep the ship moving in small, deliberate adjustments rather than staying in one lane. Prioritize enemies that can attack from the edges of the screen or fill the immediate flight path.

Watch the scrolling area ahead and create an escape route before enemy fire reaches the ship. During crowded encounters, survival is more important than maximizing immediate kills.

Before you begin

What should you know before playing?

  1. 1

Use short movement corrections to keep room for avoiding incoming fire.

  2. 2

Clear threats near the ship before pursuing targets farther ahead.

  3. 3

Learn the timing of recurring enemy formations and hazards.
