Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
The game uses a vertically scrolling perspective. The player moves a spacecraft across the screen, destroys waves of enemies, avoids projectiles and terrain hazards, and survives long enough to reach stage objectives.
Stages are structured as sequential combat areas with changing enemy formations and increasingly dangerous encounters. Progress depends on accurate shooting, positioning, and learning attack patterns; the supplied version does not have reliably documented role-playing or character-development systems.
Plan your run
Stay mobile, but avoid making large uncontrolled movements that carry the ship into incoming fire. Watch enemy formations before committing to an attack, and prioritize threats that fire directly at the player.
Learn the timing of recurring attack patterns and use open areas of the screen to create an escape route. Conservative positioning is usually safer than chasing every target.
Before you begin
Keep a clear escape path while engaging enemy formations.
Prioritize enemies that launch projectiles or restrict movement.
Use repeated attempts to learn stage layouts and attack timing.
Galactix 1.5 is a DOS science-fiction shoot 'em up developed by Cygnus Studios and published by Epic MegaGames. The player pilots a combat spacecraft against invading alien forces in a vertically scrolling battle over hostile worlds and space installations. Its play style centers on rapid shooting, enemy-pattern recognition, weapon management, and evasive movement rather than exploration or role-playing. The game was distributed in the shareware era and is remembered as a technically ambitious PC shooter with colorful graphics, busy action, and a demanding difficulty curve. Version 1.5 represents a specific release of the game, but surviving references do not consistently document every difference from other versions.
