How it plays
The game uses a top-down perspective for exploration and a first-person perspective for turn-based battles. Felix's party travels through towns, routes, caves, ruins, and elemental Lighthouses while pursuing the antagonists and investigating the world's declining elemental power.
Players move characters, interact with objects, solve Psynergy-based puzzles, collect Djinn, equip weapons and armor, and fight monsters. Djinn can be assigned to characters to alter classes and statistics, summoned during battle, or used as field abilities. Progression comes from experience levels, equipment, Djinn combinations, story events, and the acquisition of new Psynergy.
Plan your run
Inspect every area for hidden paths, items, and Djinn. Field Psynergy is often required to reach optional rooms, so revisit earlier locations after learning new abilities.
Experiment with Djinn assignments instead of keeping fixed classes. Save Djinn for summons when a battle demands burst damage, and keep a balanced reserve of healing, support, and offensive abilities. Upgrade equipment in every major town and use weapon unleashes when reliable damage matters.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a Japanese-developed role-playing game by Camelot Software Planning, published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. It continues the story of the original Golden Sun from the viewpoint of Felix, a former antagonist seeking to restore the elemental Lighthouses. The adventure combines traditional turn-based battles with exploration, environmental puzzles, collectible Djinn, and extensive dialogue. Players travel across Weyard, recruit allies, and use Psynergy both in combat and in the field. Its large world, linked plot, and inventive dungeon puzzles were widely praised, while reviewers also noted the substantial amount of text. The game is commonly regarded as one of the Game Boy Advance's strongest role-playing titles and as an unusually ambitious sequel for the system.
