The Vic Viper moves through horizontally scrolling stages viewed from the side. The objective is to survive enemy waves, destroy stage bosses, and progress through increasingly difficult areas.

Destroyed enemies may release power capsules. Collecting them advances the power meter, allowing the player to activate weapons, speed increases, missiles, options, or defensive equipment. Losing a life removes the active power setup, making recovery a central part of each stage.

The game is primarily a single-player arcade-style campaign. Success depends on positioning, pattern recognition, controlled power selection, and learning the safest routes through terrain and boss attacks.

Build the power meter deliberately rather than activating every upgrade immediately. A speed increase is useful early, but excessive speed can make tight terrain harder to control.

Keep the Vic Viper moving in open areas, and use missiles or other weapons to handle enemies approaching from different heights. Protect Options when possible, because rebuilding a full setup after death is difficult.

Study boss patterns and preserve defensive equipment for sections where collisions or dense projectile spreads are most likely.
