Fun School 2: For the Under-6s
DOSEducational
How it plays
H-Tron uses an overhead arena perspective. Players guide moving vehicles through an enclosed field, leaving trails that remain in place and turn previously open space into hazards. A collision with a boundary or trail eliminates the affected player.
The main objective is survival. Matches are built around short rounds and spatial control rather than exploration, inventory management, or character progression. As available space decreases, safe routes become harder to maintain and decisions must be made more quickly.
Plan your run
Preserve open space instead of turning continuously without a plan. Early in a round, avoid sealing off too much of the arena; later, use existing trails and narrow corridors to restrict opponents. Keep a route available for your own escape before attempting to trap another player.
H-Tron is a DOS arcade action game based on the fundamental light-cycle idea associated with arena games: maneuver around a closed playfield while leaving a persistent trail behind. The objective is to outlast opponents by forcing them into walls or trails, with positioning and timing taking priority over elaborate character development. Available reference information about H-Tron is limited, so its developer, publisher, release year, and contemporary reception cannot be verified here. It is best described as a compact, competitive arcade experience rather than a story-driven title. Its appeal comes from readable rules, quick rounds, and the tension created as the arena gradually fills with obstacles.
