How it plays
The game uses an overhead perspective for exploration. Players move through Hogwarts, grounds, and other locations, speak with characters, collect items, solve environmental puzzles, and complete story objectives.
Battles use turn-based commands. Harry, Ron, and Hermione bring different spells and capabilities, so party selection and effective spell use matter during encounters. Progression follows the story through missions and newly available areas rather than an open-ended world.
Plan your run
Switch characters when a puzzle or encounter calls for a specific ability, rather than relying on one hero throughout.
In battles, identify enemy weaknesses and conserve useful spells and restorative items. Explore side paths before advancing the story to collect supplies and locate optional rewards.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a 2004 action role-playing adventure developed by Griptonite Games and published by Electronic Arts for Game Boy Advance. It adapts the third Harry Potter story, sending Harry, Ron, and Hermione through Hogwarts while the escaped prisoner Sirius Black becomes the focus of the mystery. The game combines overhead exploration, turn-based battles, item collection, spell use, and puzzle-solving. Players can switch between the three heroes, each with different abilities, to overcome obstacles and enemies. Reception was generally positive for its variety and faithful presentation, although critics noted that its combat and progression were relatively simple compared with larger role-playing games.
