How it plays
The game is viewed from an overhead perspective. Each day, the player tends crops, feeds livestock, gathers materials, fishes, explores nearby areas, and speaks with residents. Stamina and time limit the number of activities possible before bedtime.
The year is divided into four seasons, with festivals and weekly bazaars providing milestones. Goods can be processed or cooked, then sold at the bazaar. Better tools, larger facilities, additional animals, and bazaar upgrades expand the farm and improve the town’s economy.
Plan your run
Prioritize crops that fit the current season and keep a reserve of seeds for replanting. Process or cook valuable items when the added value justifies the time and materials.
Use the days before the bazaar to prepare a varied stock. Improve tools when possible, but protect enough stamina for watering, animal care, and essential gathering. Talk to residents regularly and give suitable gifts to build relationships steadily.

Before you begin

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar is a farming and life-simulation game developed by Marvelous Entertainment for Nintendo DS and published in the West by Natsume. The player moves to Zephyr Town, a struggling community whose weekly bazaar can restore its prosperity. Farming, animal care, fishing, gathering, cooking, shopping, and relationship-building are connected through the town economy. The game uses a seasonal calendar and a stylus-friendly interface, while its defining feature is the weekend bazaar. Players sell goods directly, expand stalls, and gradually attract more customers. Reception generally praised the charming presentation and bazaar concept, although opinions were mixed about its slower early progression and some repetitive routines.
